Jin Shin Jyutsu
Literally defined, Jin Shin Jyutsu is the Art of the Creator expressed through knowing and compassionate man.
It is a physio-philosophy that involves the application of the hands for gently balancing the flow of life energy in the body; more generally, it is the awakening to awareness of complete harmony within the self and the universe.
There are two important distinctions between Jin Shin Jyutsu and many other massage and oriental healing modalities to which it is often compared.
First, Jin Shin Jyutsu is an art, as opposed to a technique; a technique is a mechanical application, whereas an art is a skillful creationSecond, Jin Shin Jyutsu is not a physical manipulation of tissue and uses only minimal pressure. The hands are used as "jumper cables," contacting 26 "safety energy locks" to redirect, or unblock the flow of energy along its pathways.
A practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu is not the "do-er", s/he simply assists in the flow of an infinite supply of universal energy. This process does not affect the practitioner's personal supply of energy.
In a typical Jin Shin Jyutsu session, which lasts about one hour, the receiver remains clothed and lies face- up on a cushioned surface. After "listening" to the energy pulses in the wrists, a practitioner employs a harmonizing sequence, or "flow," appropriate for unblocking particular pathways and restoring the energy to the energy rhythm of the universe.
A "flow" is a series of hand placement combinations (using the "safety energy locks") that stimulates circulation of energy along a given pathway. There are many such pathways in the body, each with a distinct function or essence.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique to help detect and correct imbalances in the CranioSacral System by seeking the causes of pain and dysfunction and encouraging the body’s self-correcting properties. These imbalances may be the cause of sensory, motor or neurological dysfunction.
In a typical session the client lies on a table and relaxes while the CranioSacral system is evaluated using about five grams of pressure. The technique is so subtle that clients often sleep peacefully throughout the treatment. Clients often feel tensions and restrictions releasing during the session.
What I like most about CranioSacral Therapy is the fact that it is extremely relaxing and encourages the body to self-correct. During the treatment you may experience what is called a “Somatic Emotional Release.” (S.E.R.) This happens when tensions in your body are released. Tensions accumulate in your tissues during emotional or physical traumas etc. When you experience a Somatic Emotional Release the tissues that have been “storing” the tension unwind and release.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Reiki Classes
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.
Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.
Wellness Dialogue
The idea that our well-being is multi faceted is one that has been the fulcrum of my work in the world, not only with my clients and patients but also with myself, my family and friends. No aspect of a person’s life stands alone as the cause of their distress or joy. Humans and the way we react to our environments are a microcosm of the greater force of the inter-connection of the universe. We create stories to make sense of our experiences and to contain our reality. Our stories become a sort of safe cataloguing system to hold on to that reality that we can’t wrap our little minds around the vastness and intricacy of our existence. There is a need, a crucial one at that, to look beneath the surface of any presenting story, whether it is physical, emotional, social or otherwise. Learning that an illness or a social awkwardness has it’s roots in something other than the obvious, a bodily dysfunction or an inherited shyness is very often a shock. If it is pointed out that the two may actually arise from the same but seemingly unrelated aspect of our experience is a revelation. Vast systems of treatment have their foundations in the idea that we are compartmentalized beings and that all one has to address is that which is presented to the practitioner as the “symptom”. The problem is further simplified by the application of some sort of quick fix for a person’s ills, a drug, a machine, a week at the spa. Lots of time, energy and money are taken up by the idea that one merely needs to alleviate the physical, financial or spiritual symptoms and voila, we are good to go!!
Wellness dialogue was developed as an adjunct to conventional or alternative healing therapies. It is a process of listening to the client as they explore different aspects of their well-being and as they tell their story from the point of view of the observer and the hero. It is simultaneously intensive and delicate, unearthing ideas and thoughts from a new and deeper perspective, often fueling the process of healthy change for the client.
Reality exploration
An ongoing process, usually over the telephone as together my client and I “check-in” and explore how their new insights are fitting into their life and problem solving around obstacles to well-being that may have presented themselves after an intensive retreat.
Shamanic Practices
Illumination
The Illumination Process clears the imprints of karma and disease from the Luminous Energy Field and brings about healing at the blueprint level of your being.
Extraction Process
Energies such as fear, envy, and anger can penetrate the Luminous Energy Field, these are removed with the Extraction process. Both crystallized energies and intrusive energies and entities are extracted, and your affinities for toxic people and situations are changed.
Munay-Ki
The rites of the Munay-Ki are the energetic “codes” for this new human known as “Homo-Luminous” or “Light Being”. The Munay-Ki are the nine great rites of initiation of the medicine way, which come from the ancient men and women known as the Laika. These initiations are one of three pillars of the medicine teachings and are best received in conjunction with the "core insights", the personal healing work of the Medicine Wheel and the intervention tools of shamanic energy medicine, as taught in the Healing the Light Body program. Together with the teachings and interventions, the rites, which are received as “seeds” have the solid vessel necessary for them to grow within and the fertile soil that nurtures them to blossom fully.
The Rites of the Munay-Ki are experienced in the form of energetic transmissions that shift the luminous energy field. They are a nine step process to heal the wounds of the past – our karmic & genetic inheritance. They help us to step into the fullness of our nature by transforming our human energy field and re-informing our DNA, enabling us to grow a new body – one that ages, heals, and dies differently.
Bear Medicine
I was gifted with bear medicine years ago when apprenticing with a Native Medicine person. It is shamanic in nature and very effective in moving energy that is stubborn, stagnant or blocked. If you can imagine a large bear gently raking the bushes for luscious berries or ripping apart an old log looking for grubs, you get the picture.
